Zig Zag Quilt without triangles {Girl Bedroom}

I'm so excited to show you some of the projects for my daughter's big girl room. I totally love the Ruby fabric from Bonnie and Camille and it's been my inspiration for the colors for the room. I started by using the some of the fabric to make a zig zag quilt. My first hard quilt EVER and it was really easy!

There is a great tutorial on Moda Bake Shop.  The tutorial is really easy and didn't require any piecing of triangles.

The back is just some white muslin fabric and red/white polka dots. I had it quilted by Heather Spence Designs Heather was so easy to work with and I just mailed my quilt, batting and backing to her and she quilted it up beautifully and mailed it back. Heather did a great job and her great quilting helped hide my mistakes! My Mom did a great job binding the quilt for me.

My Mom also made a gorgeous banner out of the same Ruby fabric. She has an embroidery machine and used the Flower Power Banner pattern from Big Dreams Embroidery.

Love how her room is coming together!
