Henrietta Chair {Annie Sloan chalk paint}

I found this great chair at Goodwill for $10.  I've been looking for the perfect chair for my entryway and loved the legs on this one.

The before was not too bad but I knew I wanted to paint it since I already have a couple different wood stained tables in that area.

I painted two coats of Annie Sloan chalk paint in Henrietta and then finished up with the clear wax.  I wasn't sure I liked chalk paint when I first tried it on E's bookshelf  a few weeks ago.  I loved the look of the finish but it is just so different than latex paint.  The brush strokes are more visible with it and the waxing is more work than the actual painting.  It is getting easier to work with as I get used to it.  The seat is recovered in some Anna Maria Horner Home Decor-the line is called Drawing room.  The purple in the fabric matches the paint color perfectly!

Entryway tour {How to paint a plastic mirror}

Ready for an entryway tour?  We're going to start with the aqua mirror.  I see tons of plastic mirrors at the thrift store and they are an easy thing to paint.  Plus I think everyone should have a mirror in their entryway so you can make sure you don't have something in your teeth before you go rushing out the door.

Entryway {Ruler box-tutorial}

I have a total addiction to containers.  Baskets, bins, little tins.  Love them.  Lately I've been obsessed with the little ruler box I saw on Layla's spring mantle.  Then I saw another super cute one that Diana from Vintage Home made and that just made my obsession worse.

Love.

Entryway with state love art...

I feel like I've been gone forever!  I feel totally overwhelmed by summer.  Anyone else?  It's so hard to entertain 4 kids and get anything else done.  The kids are having a fun summer though which is what is really important.  My house is all unpacked and I've been doing tons of fun projects I just haven't had time to blog about them yet.

This is the view right as you walk through the front door.  The beautiful watercolor art is from The Wheatfield.  LOVE her stuff!  It's so cheerful and inspiring.  The state/country art I made with my silhouette machine and is all the places we've lived the past few years.    The chalkboard I made with an old mirror.  The little bench is the Ana-White rustic bench that we made a while ago and I just painted it with Rustoleum Night tide gloss spray paint.
