Zig Zag Wall Letter {Grey and Aqua Girls Bedroom}

I made a fun little wall letter for my daughter's bedroom. It was super simple and cost just a few dollars in supplies.

I found this piece of art from Goodwill for 50 cents. It's basically a slice from a tree and I liked the texture of it.

I started by cleaning the wood and then painting the backside of it with Annie Sloan Chalk Paint in Pure White.

Then I bought a little chevron/zig zag pattern from the silhouette store and used my Silhouette machine to cut it out of vinyl for a stencil.

After applying the stencil I painted the zig zags with ASCP in French Linen. The same color I used on E's dresser and bookcase.

I let the paint dry (the great thing about chalk paint is that it dries super fast!) then peeled off the vinyl stencil. There was a little paint bleed thru since the wood wasn't totally smooth. So I just distressed it a little bit to make the mistakes less noticeable. Also to give it character.  If you mess us crafting just say "I did that on purpose to add character and make it unique."

I bought a little "E" from Joann's and painted it robin's egg blue with craft paint.

I used E6000 to glue the E to the wood.

I topped the project off with a little rolled fabric rosette that I made a tutorial for last year.

The artwork is a print from Katie Daisy.  Love this print and it matches the quilt I made E perfectly!

I don't think that picture is staying.  I think I want a print in color instead of B/W but that one fit the frame. What do you think?
