Pallet Coat Rack {glass door knob repurpose}

Friday / 24 comments
I've been working on a couple pallet projects so I had a big pile of pallet wood scrap in the garage. I found a vintage glass door knob at a little estate shop a few days ago and thought it would be perfect to hang coats. Easiest project ever. I grabbed a piece of wood out of the pile and sanded it a little. Didn't even cut it to make it even. The three glass hooks are new from Home Depot and I just used a bolt to attach the door knobs.

UPDATE!  I found this great tutorial on Beckie's site Infarrantly Creative on how to fill the doorknobs with resin to make the knobs easier to screw in.

Also the "glass" hooks are actually acrylic and are called the Liberty Acyrlic Facets Hook and I bought them at Home Depot.

  17. I love this! I have about the glass door knobs and have been trying to figure out how to attach them, but I would love those glass hooks! I can't seem to find them on homedepot.com or amazon. Do you remember the brand? Thank you.

  18. Kimberly, I searched a long time for the glass hooks on homedepot.com, too, and FINALLY found them! It's called the Liberty Acrylic Facets Hook in Satin Nickel.

  19. [...] A pallet coat rack is also very easy to make. You actually only need one piece of wood. Sand it a little and cut it to the desired dimensions. Add some hooks and hardware to help you attach the hanger to the wall and you’ll get a lovely coat rack for your hallway or entryway. You can alternate hooks with doorknobs, great for hanging bags and purses.{found on beingbrook}. [...]

  21. Hi Brook! I finally got around to making a coat rack with some collected glass door knobs. I linked back to your post from mine at http://prettyediblediy.blogspot.com/2012/12/how-to-hang-coats-on-glass-door-knobs.html. I ended up not using the glass hooks from home depot but I'm sure I'll find a use for them.
