Brass lamp makeover

IMG_2165

I needed a cute lamp for my entryway table.  I found this super shiny brass one at the thrift store for $4.  It had a hideous plastic shade too so I donated the shade back to the store before leaving.

I primed it with a coat of primer and then followed it up with 3 light coats of my new favorite paint.  The Rustoleum universal.  LOVE this stuff, I just wish they had it in more colors.

I already had the lamp shade but thought it was a little blah.

So I made a few fabric flowers to make the shade pretty and add some texture.

Love the flowers!  I wrote a little tutorial on how to make them and it can be found right here.  They are way easy!

Love my new lamp, especially love that it cost me less than $10!

Brook it's gorgeous now. Amazing what a little spray paint and fabric rosettes can do. Love it and loving the price even more.
